CALL TO ACTION: Alaskans! Help Fight Parity

Alaskans living with the loss or absence of a limb are facing discouraging obstacles when trying to obtain prosthetic care. Current changes in insurance coverage for prostheses threaten their ability to lead independent, productive lives.

The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) and Mike Szymanski, support group leader and lobbyist, are working together to introduce a bill in the state legislature to ensure that Alaskans with limb loss receive the care they need.

Alaska is one of almost thirty states preparing to introduce prosthetic coverage legislation in 2008. Right now, we are working to build a coalition to help support this important health care reform bill.

We invite you to a teleconference meeting to discuss prosthetic parity in Alaska!

When: Thursday, December 13 at 12:00 pm NOON (Alaska Time Zone)

R.S.V.P: Please, R.S.V.P. for the call: state@amputee-coalition.org

The Amputee Coalition of America is working with activist, organizations, and health care professionals all over the country to advance prosthetic coverage legislation. This teleconference call is aimed at bringing together individuals who want to learn about how to fight for prosthetic parity in the state of Alaska.
